What a patient system should do
- One record per patient with visits, diagnoses, treatment and documents.
- Appointments and queues, so patients wait less and doctors see their day.
- Medicines and consumables: stock, use per patient and orders.
- Reports for the clinic and, where required, for health authorities.
Protecting medical data
- Store personal data of Uzbek citizens on servers in Uzbekistan, as the personal data law requires.
- Give each role access only to what it needs, and log every view and change.
- Keep backups and test restoring them.
Experience behind this advice
- Eurosoft built five national information systems for the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan (IT-Med – Uzinfocom) under presidential resolutions: registries for kidney disease with hemodialysis monitoring, spinal muscular atrophy and transplants, and tracking of medicines for children and of centrally purchased medicines. They were accepted at the Ministry of Health in May 2023, with a pilot in medical institutions.
