AI in schools for student wellbeing: how to screen responsibly

One school psychologist cannot talk to every student every month. AI can help find who needs attention first, but only if a person stays in charge and children are never labelled by a machine. Here is how a responsible screening system works.

How the process works

  • Students take short tests and games on a class tablet, logging in with a class code and then face or ID.
  • AI writes a short report and a support level, and adds the case to the psychologist's queue.
  • The psychologist talks to the student and confirms or rejects every case. AI never decides alone.
  • A referral to another service happens only with consent, and management gets reports by school, city and region.

Rules that protect children

  • No labels for students, only a support level.
  • Every AI function can be switched off by the school or the operator.
  • Role-based access: teachers, psychologists, inspectors and managers each see only what they need.
  • The system works in the languages the students use.

A real deployment: AI Psixolog

  • AI Psixolog, built by Eurosoft for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, is used by 350,000+ users in 250+ schools and technical colleges.
  • It covers students in grades 7–11, has 6 user roles and works in 3 languages.
